Our first art classes in local public schools!!

Recently, a group of us from the Robison Foundation gave some exciting, fun art classes at several public schools in Salt Lake City. We took our Creative Healing Center mobile, as we don't have a building yet for the center. It was really fun and the children seemed to really enjoy the classes!! The first class, the children painted on large pieces of cardboard.....creating any kind of picture they wanted. They painted some really beautiful paintings......children are natural artists and they really showed a lot of talent!

Our second class was a project about cities, creating their own building or house and then adding it to a structure that looked like a city or tower. The children painted and decorated papier' mache' boxes to look like a house or building and then we added them to a platform to make a city. They really had fun!

So, our first art classes were really a success and we loved being with the children!! We will be doing more classes soon! Contact us if you'd like us to go to your school to give your children a wonderful opportunity to do art!!

Adorable, funny children who will make you laugh......

This is an adorable little girl, the daughter of a friend of ours, who happily allowed us to interview her and her little brother a few weeks ago and we had the most fun time with them. We had almost 45 questions composed to ask them (of course, we wouldn't have asked them every question), but it turned out that they were so delightful and so funny with even just a few of the questions we asked them, the interview turned out even more wonderful and hilarious that we had expected. It just shows how spontaneous and happy children are and that we can all (as adults) be happier, too, if we live by the example of children!!

Some of the Schramer's art classes for children.....

These are some of the wonderful children's art classes that the Schramer's have given in the past at public and private schools, children's museums and in our own art studio/gallery in Salt Lake City. They were working with the children in creating amazing little furniture from natural materials and they really loved it. Children love nature and to create art from the beautiful things in nature is very exciting and inspiring for them. It was really a wonderful experience for Mike and Debbie, too. They hope to be able to offer these classes and many, many others in the Creative Healing Center when it is established. If you're interested in helping The Robison Foundation establish our wonderful school of the arts for children, please contact us and we would be happy to send you more informaton about what we are doing. We would be grateful for any contributions or donations of support either in grants, financial support or gifts of items for our school. We want to make it a truely magical and wondrous place for children.

Children can take us out of 9-11

We watched a program tonight on September 11th and it was very heart wrenching. And yet I look at the photos of these children.....pictures I found on some wonderful blogs and I think about the strength of a child's spirit and of the amazing joy they have within them. Somehow, despite all the terrible things that go on in the world, we must find something of joy to carry on with us each day. We cannot carry anger with us.....we cannot carry sorrow, or fear or hatred. Those things will destroy just as something as terrible destroyed the trade towers and the other places. Look at a child.....and see the love that they share with the world, with us, and somehow, that is what we need to carry with us through each moment, through each time we look out from ourselves to see the world. Isn't happiness better than misery? I believe it is. I want to find happiness and run from misery, but if I find those who are miserable, I want to lift them up to see the sunshine to find the happiness within themselves and all around them. We cannot let our world perish because of anything. It is a beautiful world, still. We are all beautiful. I hope and pray we can learn from children.....from the hope they show us in their eyes and in their smiles and their laughter and in the way they love everyone. Just when we think we do not matter or are forgotten, they open a door and call to us to make us smile again and even laugh. Isn't even just that enough to want to be happy in this life? That little smile.....
