Adorable, funny children who will make you laugh......

This is an adorable little girl, the daughter of a friend of ours, who happily allowed us to interview her and her little brother a few weeks ago and we had the most fun time with them. We had almost 45 questions composed to ask them (of course, we wouldn't have asked them every question), but it turned out that they were so delightful and so funny with even just a few of the questions we asked them, the interview turned out even more wonderful and hilarious that we had expected. It just shows how spontaneous and happy children are and that we can all (as adults) be happier, too, if we live by the example of children!!

Children can take us out of 9-11

We watched a program tonight on September 11th and it was very heart wrenching. And yet I look at the photos of these children.....pictures I found on some wonderful blogs and I think about the strength of a child's spirit and of the amazing joy they have within them. Somehow, despite all the terrible things that go on in the world, we must find something of joy to carry on with us each day. We cannot carry anger with us.....we cannot carry sorrow, or fear or hatred. Those things will destroy just as something as terrible destroyed the trade towers and the other places. Look at a child.....and see the love that they share with the world, with us, and somehow, that is what we need to carry with us through each moment, through each time we look out from ourselves to see the world. Isn't happiness better than misery? I believe it is. I want to find happiness and run from misery, but if I find those who are miserable, I want to lift them up to see the sunshine to find the happiness within themselves and all around them. We cannot let our world perish because of anything. It is a beautiful world, still. We are all beautiful. I hope and pray we can learn from children.....from the hope they show us in their eyes and in their smiles and their laughter and in the way they love everyone. Just when we think we do not matter or are forgotten, they open a door and call to us to make us smile again and even laugh. Isn't even just that enough to want to be happy in this life? That little smile.....

The Robison Foundation Mission Statement

Robison Foundation

We, the Robison Foundation, otherwise known as Eliminating Poverty, is a 501c3 charity and are in the process of raising funds to create a center for helping children and adults in the community in what we have termed the Creative Healing Center, a place for learning, art, creativity, sharing, performances and exhibits. More importantly, the Center will also be a place of healing and caring. The three main areas of focus in the Robison Foundation are: children, the homeless and education. The goal of bridging gaps in the community, helping people to learn about the needs of others and sharing ideas and talents is the hopeful outcome of the foundation's creative and caring projects. Through classes, workshops, lectures, performances, films, books, exhibits, community involvement and scholarships, the foundation's Creative Healing Center will be a place where lives are changed and people can learn more about caring for others. Here are some of the projects The Creative Healing Center hopes to offer:

1. Classes and workshops in the arts for children, adults, the elderly, disabled, homeless and refugees. The center would be available for schools, youth groups, home-schooled children, homeless children and families, etc. Classes and workshops offered would be in painting, sculpture, photography, various kinds of crafts, music, dance, drama, filmmaking, costume making, writing, etc. Monthly exhibits in the gallery of the Creative Healing Center would be available to all who participate in the classes with their artwork for sale; half of the proceeds being given to each artist to give them the opportunity to see the potential of their abilities having a monetary value to them and to see the power of work and creativity. The other half of the proceeds will be used to maintain and run the Center along with giving out scholarships for educational purposes. Many kinds of sports and indoor and outdoor activities would be available to any and all to learn "life skills", kindness, understanding, friendship and the joy of working within a team.

2. To help the children and youth learn about those in the community whose lives have been affected by alcohol, drugs, abuse and other tragedies, various creative projects will be offered during the month where their artistry can be focused on helping, healing and inspiring those disadvantaged people, including children in orphanages in other countries. To teach the children and the youth about the lives of these people so they can learn empathy and compassion is a valueable lesson. Through the arts, writing, performances, etc., their feelings, thoughts and ideas can be expressed and shared to actually help those in need. By sending paintings about the concern they have for the addicted or orphans, by creating plays or documentaries about hope and real workable ideas, children can learn real skills in helping others who suffer from loneliness, fear and sadness. Children have a way of healing people with their genuine love, happiness and honesty. By letting the children and the youth lead us more and share with us their vision of a better world, we can actually make this dream happen.

3. Art for those struck with alcoholism, addiction, etc. can be an amazing healing tool. For people whose lives have become empty and hopeless, painting, sculpting, writing and other art mediums can help release the pain and humiliation that people feel when their lives have been so shattered. Given the chance to be involved in an art project, a writing workshop or a filmmaking class perhaps will unleash the hidden talent and abilities that were veiled by years of struggle. Also, given the chance to exhibit and sell their artwork or other creative projects will lift their self-esteem to a level perhaps not experienced before. Scholarships would also be available for those whose work ethic and determination are acceptable to the charity.

The Robison Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization established to help children in it's own community and all over the world. The founder, Adam Robison, cares about children and knows that so much can be done to help children who struggle in school and in society and those who may be affected by poverty, disability or poor self-esteem. It can be very overwhelming to think of this daunting task, but each child in the world is very precious; they depend on those people who are sensitive to the needs of children to improve their lives and to help them find happiness. Through the Robison Foundation Creative Healing Center and ultimately in it's international schools and orphanages, children will be cared for and nurtured and guided to have brighter, happier and more productive lives. With exciting and wonderful art classes in painting, sculpture, photography, drama, dance, film, writing, music, etc., children will be able to express themselves using their natural creative abilities and imagination. Great care will be given with each child to show love and a nurturing heart to help them find and develop their potential and confidence. The children will also be given the opportunity to help others whose lives have been affected by difficulties through various art and humanitarian projects. Documentaries and books about the children's classes and projects will be a major focus as well to help record the progress and excitement of the children's creativity and to help raise funds for their future projects and scholarships and to assist others in need in the community. One of the main goals of the Robison Foundation is to bring to full circle the creativity of children and the hope and joy they share to heal and inspire others. "Let the Children Lead" is a fitting motto for this organization who cares about those who are a silent voice around us.
